Bangkok - The Land of Smiles (W Bangkok)

May 19, 2015 /

My first experience with W Taipei had left such an excellent and lasting impression,
which made me look forward to staying with W Hotel at various countries that I travel to.
This trip to Bangkok was really impromptu,
and I was really grateful that the team at W Bangkok could make a very last-min arrangement to host us.

Situated at North Sathorn Road,
W Bangkok is positioned as 'the new playground of jet setters and fashionistas'.
It is located away from the popular Pratunam and Siam areas,
but it was an ideal place for us to be away from the crowded and messy area
and a perfect location to unwind and retreat to.
Furthermore, it was at a convenient location for the Chao Praya River tour which we went to.
(A mere 2 stops away via the BTS Skytrain)
Psst.. it is also located right opposite a 'Mr Jones Orphanage' branch.

I would say, that the hotel is a combination of attitude, loud, sophisticated and trendy.
Fashion, music and design are the main focus when it comes to the details of this hotel.
We were greeted with friendly and welcoming smiles,
and all the staff we met were genuinely helpful and emitted such positive vibes.
With 403 spacious guest rooms and suites available,
perhaps you can even request for a room in a colour that you prefer.
The theme for W Bangkok is 'Thai Boxing',
and thus the loud designs that you can expect to see around the hotel.

We had the chance to indulge in a sumptuous breakfast spread at The Kitchen Table,
and it was one of the best meals we had in Bangkok.
Although the choices were relatively less than the one which I had in W Taipei,
there were more than enough to suit my palette,
and the quality of all the food was definitely not compromised.
(The waffles and pancakes were my personal favourites!)
I also managed to have a quick session in the gym,
but unfortunately, due to a tight schedule, I had to give the pool a miss.
(By the way, W Hotels boasts a distinct underwater sound system,
which I was really looking forward to.)
Also regretted not spending some time at the WooBar.
Hopefully, I will be able to return very soon!

The experience in this fashionable hotel was nothing short of amazing, albeit a short one.
Thank you W Bangkok, for such a pleasant stay!
If you are looking for a comfortable experience for your next trip to Bangkok,
W Bangkok is definitely worthwhile to be included in your itinerary :)
