Six Hundred & Sixty Four; Ilo Ilo, Philippines.

Ilo Ilo, Philippines

"Travel makes one modest.
You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world."
--Gustave Flaubert

Had the opportunity to visit Iloilo for a short 3-days trip recently,
& it was indeed an eye-opener for me.

This province of Philippines is filled with historical landmarks;
& I had a good time appreciating the magnificent architectures,
which are so rich in culture and heritage.
Just to give an elaborate description of one of them:
The Miagao Church.
It is the Roman Catholic parish church of the town,
and has been around since 1797.
Undeniably one of the architectural gems because of its
unique and magnificent designs and ornaments.
I may not be a Catholic,
but I was totally in awe the moment I stepped into the Church.
It was amazing to witness how an ancient church like this,
could still be so well-maintained and definitely attractive.

It was a splendid getaway for us,
because for the 3 days, we slowed down our pace,
and truly learned to enjoy the peace in the surrounding.
I witnessed how bonded some of the locals are,
& this gave me a deeper insight into their lifestyles.
This trip has provided me with an authentic cultural experience,
which are now precious memories etched in my mind.
Thank you, Cebu Pacific Air and Philippine Department of Tourism,
for making this trip possible;
and thank you for all the arrangements carefully planned for us.

Philippines, I will be back for you!
Boracay/Cebu are definitely up on my bucket list :)

I can't believe it has been almost a month since the distance began!
Like what I said, it becomes much easier when you have a plan to look forward to.
So.. I have just booked my tickets for a trip in end November.
Besides visiting le buddy, this trip is happening for a few other reasons.

See you in UK soon, le buddy!! :)
