Six Hundred & One; The Audacious Cakery

November 30, 2013 / ,

I'm back for more another food post.
This time, it's for desserts lovers!

Thanks to Nic's invitation,
special friend (Melissa), Melvin & I visited The Audacious Cakery few days ago.

The first thing that caught my attention were the quotes on the wall.

Love them!

Opened just 2 months ago,

The Audacious Cakery serves a variety of desserts,
at reasonable prices.

Melvin and I loved the Lemon Meringue Tart ($5.80).
You can state your preference: Warm/Chilled.
I prefer mine warm while Melvin preferred it chilled.
The silky smooth tangy lemon filling was not too sweet/sour.
Well-balanced & refreshing for the taste buds.
The biscuit base lacked in a bit of taste though.

I regretted not trying the Chocolate Souffle.
Will head back to try it next time!

behind-the-scene
P.S The camera which I had been using, belongs to Le Buddy,
and he brought it for his overseas trip.
So I was left with my iphone. All photos were taken with the iphone.....
Pardon me!

1- Exotique ($7.80)
2 - Strawberry Cupcake ($3.50)
3. Monet ($9.80)
4. Foret Noir ($9.80)
5. Matcha Cupcake ($3.50)
6. Strawberry Shortcake ($6.80)

 Exotique was my second favourite.
Mango and coconut mousse on a jaconde sponge with fresh mango and papaya bits.
Very Asian-ish.
I loved the combination.
I think my Mummee will love this too!

Monet: Orange mousse with champagne, served with a tart
raspberry compote on a Cointreau soaked sponge
studded with red currants
and Foret Noir: Valrhona dark chocolate mousse, Kirsh soaked cherries
and Kirsh Cream on a dark Valrhona chocolate genoise

I love how Foret Noir was presented.
These two are for the alcoholic desserts lovers,
which I am not.......
So I can't really give my judgments on the taste.

This Matcha Cupcake was definitely one of our Top 3 favourites.
All 3 of us LOVE this.
Dense & moist, with a rich and fragrant matcha taste.
You know how some matcha have this a bitter after-taste?
This matcha cupcake seemed to have the right amount of matcha that
was rich enought yet
do not have the after taste at all.
It really leaves you wanting more.

The Strawberry Cupcake beside was Melissa's favourite.

Zacharie was my favourite!
Mango passionfruit cheese mousse with a mango
passionfruit centre on a ginger biscuit base

Delectable was an understatement.
I loved how this cheesecake was really light and smooth.
Honestly, I didn't know there was ginger included in the biscuit base,
so it goes to show that it was just a tinge of ginger taste that blended in really well.

Psst...
All these small cakes are available in bigger sizes too.
You just need to book at least 5 days in advance.
X'mas is coming, and you need ideas for logcakes?

TRY THIS!!!!!!!!!

 We also tried the Macarons.
They have pretty interesting flavours such as:
Salted Caramel, Passionfruit Chocolate, Coconut Lemongrass, Earl Grey

Pretty takeaway boxes

Our special connection was once again proven to be real psychic. :)
Both of us came dressed in monochrome stripes!

This relatively new cafe is worth a visit!
