Five Hundred & Fifty Nine; Gardens by the Bay

August 9, 2013 / , , , ,

Hello!
I know I've not been blogging diligently recently.
Reason being that..
I was actually experiencing a period of ultimate low the last 2 weeks.
Usually, I would have turned to my blog to pen down my thoughts.
But this time,
all I wanted was some time alone,
I didn't want to do anything, not even blogging.
Even my bestie could sense that I needed my time alone this time,
so she really left me on my own for a few days,
before appearing again.
& once she appeared, she managed to enlighten me once again,
like how she always does. :')

I realized I was too consumed by my negative thoughts this time,
that I didn't realize that it may really be okay afterall.
My positive energy was completely gone,
& I couldn't find any way to recharge it.
I don't remember when was the last time I felt THIS down.
This is one of the moments, which I would look back at 3 yrs down the road,
& agree that it IS epic.
But I promised myself that I will only become stronger than ever.
From this experience, I learn.

I may feel down easily, but I also make sure that I pick myself up quickly.
So yes, I'm okay now & slowly getting my positive energy back,
so dont worry!! :)

Headed to Gardens by the Bay with my family yesterday.

So thankful to have my brother-in-law,
who makes the effort to bring us out occasionally,
to let Mummee explore the new attractions in Singapore :')
Such quality family times.. are way too precious.

we didn't purchase any ticket at all;
we only intended to explore the area by walking around randomly.

Gigantic ants........

We really just walked around randomly,
to look look see see.
It was quite crowded since it was a public holiday.

I don't know about you,
but I am glad & proud to be a Singaporean,
Of course we are not a 100% safe country,
but I am grateful for the security we have,
& the peace we enjoy generally.
Of course we do not have the best transport system,
& we do not have the best standard of living,
but I am thankful that the situation in Singapore is so much better
than many other countries.
Beyond those flaws that we may find in our country,
we still have many things to be grateful for, really.
That's what I feel, at least.

Not here to be patriotic & all,
but I just really want to express how thankful I am to be a Singaporean.
Happy 48th Birthday, Singapore!

Look at how our cheeky princess walked!

I actually had more photos taken with my phone,
but I stupidly restored my phone (for the second time in two nights)
without syncing it this time.
So......... the photos were gone.
By the way, I have been facing this problem with my phone:
Unable to use the WIFI.
The area is grayed out,
which means.. I can't switch it on at all.
Tried all sorts of solutions, & even tried restoring twice,
but in vain.
LE SIGH.

There wasn't much to explore honestly (since we didn't purchase any tickets),
but still, I thought it was a simple place to hang out
for some fresh air & long walk :)

- you also miss the sense of where you are going and why."

Headed to MaxWell Food Centre for dinner.
Walked past at least 3 Hainanese Chicken Rice Stalls,
before we saw this particular stall with exceptionally long queue.
I didn't intend to queue for it,
until Mummee mentioned that she wanted to try it.
So.........
I joined the queue.

Halfway through the queue,
I called le buddy to tell him about this stall that I was queuing for.
& he asked if it was the stall that had a challenge with Gordon Ramsay not too long ago.
It was only then, that I realized that,
yes, indeed it was!
The legendary....... "Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice" stall.
& so...... it was a 45minutes queue for this.

Was it good? You bet.
Of course it was!!
Undoubtedly one of the best chicken rice I've ever had.
But........... to queue for such a long time for a plate of this,
I think I would only do it once in a blue moon.
I guess I could make do with Yishun 925 Chicken rice :D

Out of curiousity,  I went to queue for this Hum Chin Peng stall,
where I get to fry my own hum chin peng!
6 for only $1?!?!
I bought 12 (6 salty, 6 sweet).
& they were super nice!!!!
I tried them while they were warm.
& they tasted soooooooo soft & good.
But to be frank,
when I tried it again at home after it was cooled,
it felt much tougher & definitely not as nice.
So, moral of the story is.....
Eat them while they are still warm. ._.

Backtracked a lil'..

Wednesday:
Randomly visited Serangoon Gardens Food Centre opposite Chomp Chomp.
Had a try at Garden Street Kway Chap.

The bowl of kway was awesome!!!
But as for the braised ingredients..
I thought they were just average..

Did they drop in the standard??
I'm not too sure since this was only my first visit..
Good thing was, they have lean meat in place of the really fatty ones,
& the lean meat was not tough at all, which was good!
I think it was the braised sauce that lacked the extra "oomph" to it.

as for the carrot cake.......
I randomly bought it from one stall & it was just.. so-so.

J tried this minced meat noodles from Chuan Heng Fishball Minced Meat Noodles,
& we thought it was quite decent!
I think the stall is more well-known for its Lor Mee & Beef Noodles.

Tuesday:

CHECK OUT MY LATEST SET OF NAILS!!
 Marc Jacobs inspired.

I wanted a monochrome set this time.
Elaine suggested this,
& since I've been seeing this 'Pickles the Bulldog' alot recently,
I thought, "WHY NOT?"
& after much discussion,
we came up with this set of design,
which turned out so beautifully!

heheheh thank you Sensual Nails Spa,

Visited Salon Vim on the first day of August,
to pamper my poor hair, with the Arimino PRIVY hair treatment.

As much as I was looking forward to a new colour for the season,
I couldnt do so due to filming requirements.
I think I have decided...........
that after I am done with my current project on hand,
I will chop off my hair,
to above shoulder length.
I NEED SOME CHANGE!!!!!!!
