Five Hundred & Fifty Eight;

July 21, 2013 / , ,

Update of my recent food hunts!

Met up with Lin, Melvin & William @ Star Vista.
I LOVE STAR VISTA!
The open concept, the design, the wide variety of food choices, etc.

Anyways, we decided to go for Ramen @ Menya Musashi.

Got the set lunch @ $14.90,
which included a bowl of ramen with a side dish.

They had 3 kinds of soup base:

Black, white & red.
I chose the white broth.
The broth was quite good!
But overall, I would say that the ramen was average.
Nothing particularly amazing or unique,
yet not that bad.
Reasonable for the price I guess!

One fine day,
after a netball & basketball session with my Exclusive khakis,
we headed to Khatib for supper.
Another friend of mine, TYC, kept telling me that this stall has nice stingray,
even better than the one at AMK S11,
which I always rave about.
So we decided to give it a try!

I was so skeptical when I saw the stall,
& msged TYC immediately to double confirm.
HAHAHAH.
Then he told me not to judge a book by its cover.
okay, true that.

$15 for this huge serving,
which I thought was really reasonable as compared to
many other overpriced outlets.
& yes, indeed,
it was pretty good!
Though I would still rate AMK S11's as number 1.
hahhaha.

The clams aka lala wasnt as impressive though.

He told me that the kangkong is good.
I guess the chilli would be similar to the stingray's chilli!

I don't know the exact address for this kopitiam.
But it's right in front of Sheng Shiong Supermarket (Blk 845 Yishun St 81).
Give it a try if you are a north-sider!

Next up, DIMSUM @ Swee Choon.

The last time I visited was in November 2012!
Back then, I felt that the siew mais were pretty bad,
but this time, I thought it was okay!
Some of my favourites from here:
Mee suah kueh (MUST ORDER OKAY),
pancake with egg & floss (though it seemed a lil' "off"),
Custard Buns (tasted better this time too!),
Beancurd roll with prawn.

As for the gyoza, chee cheong fun & char siew baos..
they were not as fantastic.

Some relationships, will never change :)

Last but not least,
I finally visited Crayon's shop @ 80 Haji Lane.

What I really really love about Crayon is the unique graphics & designs
of their items.
Not the usual "blogshop" kinda clothes.

I chose these two items:

Peacock Bomber Jacket

& this playsuit, which was love at first sight!
