Four Hundred & Forty Seven -- 《靈聼》Ghost on Air

Are you a fan of horror movies?
did my photo give you a scare? ;D
(P.S that photo has nothing related to the movie,
but I just wanted to insert a scary photo! )

Heh I'm here to share with you about a new local movie,
which will be released on 17th May.

*Note: the release date should be 17th May 2012.

On the last night of April, I caught the movie preview of Ghost on Air 《靈聼》,
courtesy of OMY & Merelion Pictures.

Take a look at the following synopsis to have an idea of what the show is about:

A Radio DJ driven to desperation, resorts to telling ghost stories on air, but what if the stories were all not fiction?

“Ping Xiao, a two time “Most Popular DJ” award winner, is suddenly robbed of his successful morning show slot. Jealous at seeing a younger DJ taking his place, he forces himself to conquer painful recurring memories of his deceased girlfriend and tells the ghost stories that was written by her on air. With each painful memory he endures, he regains a small step to his superstardom. However, as he is about to claim his reward, he begins to realize that the stories were not works of fiction, and maybe it wasn’t him telling the stories all along…”

“两度“最受欢迎DJ”的品孝,失利被调到了午夜班。眼红年轻的新人取代自己的位子,他迫不得已回忆起与已故女友的点点滴滴,在空中述说她生前所写的灵异故事。强忍着内心一阵阵的痛,他一步步地夺回自己所失去的。然而,正当他要坐回巨星的宝座時,他赫然发现他所述说的灵异故事并不是虚构的…

也或许一直在讲鬼故事的并不是自己…”

Starring: Dennis Chow (Zhou Chong Qing) & Eunice Olsen.

I liked the idea that this movie is very relate-able to our daily lives,
especially convincing since the main lead is Dennis,
who is a well-known DJ and he used to talk about ghost stories in his show before.
I liked the sound effects used in the movie.
I liked how the story unveiled with Ping Xiao experiencing strange and unexplainable occurrences
on his stairway back to rebuilding stardom.
I liked how the story had this surreal feel with the "flashback" scenes,
& it left us pondering: what is real & what is not.

A pity that this show is pretty short.
As a result, there were some details which were not 'explained' in great details;
I felt there were some scenes which deserved more "scary effects"/excitement to be added in.

Nevertheless, it's a local movie worth supporting ;)

Director Cheng Ding An shared with us his views and thoughts on his second movie.
(first was Kallang Roar)
It was a mini Q&A session, for us to know more about him, about his passion.

Personally, I think Dennis deserves to be credited for his acting.
Dennis proved himself, that not only can he make the Aunty Lucy character comes alive,
he can do well, as Dennis too.
Thumbs up for him!

Caught the show with Beee by the way.

bad photo quality.

Amelia was there with her bf too!
